Impressive

Looks great, works great. As a teacher I’d appreciate more versatile info.

wow!!!

I think it is one of the best word atlas in mac app store… great performance, on what is the most important to me — great graphics …looking great on retina displays.. I hope this app will be supported and updated with new stuff. I highly recommend

Too bad

This program doesnt worth a penny. It hangs on the very first start which can last forever. Do not buy it.

Very beautiful look! Geat educational fun for everyone.

This is the most educational world map that I have ever seen. Awasome!

So much fun

The controls are intuitive and the graphics are great. Fun way to explore the world and learn.

Crap

Dont buy or even consider. I have never in my life, including kids books, have seen such misrepresentation of a world map. Someone needed to look at a real globe before making this thing. Really, this is a joke by a lot. To fly from NY to Europe is 45 degrees up around the globe. Italy is turned sideways along with everything else. Who are you anyway? Are you even from our planet?

Visually terrific

Would be a 5+ rating if there were more pictures or even videos linked to the maps. Also, it would be incredible if you could click and learn on not just the places that you are obviously supposed to click on, yet be able to click and learn on anything at all… (next release please) For the money though, it is pretty great...

Fun App

The previous reviewer had me concerned...how could Italy and all of Europe be sideways? Heres the answer: the earth is not flat! So yes, to get from the USA to Europe on a globe you will have to travel "up" at an angle, not horizontally across. All ships and planes do this. To be sure of the accuracy I compared this app to Google Earth, and they render geographically the same. But google earth is much more complex (and powerful) and needs an internet connection. This is simply a fun and inexpensive app to get to know our earth a little better.

Good visual style of learning

Picture of Aon building in San Francisco shows Chicago city skyline. Would be nicer to get more map information of the surrounding areas and smaller cities. Otherwise a great tool to learn about world geopolitical info in a nice 3-D presentation. The offline feature is the biggest advantage in my view, as compared to Google maps/world. Hope future versions fix the issues and add more features, and I can upgrade the review.

The word "atlas" is misused here.

This is not an atlas. The app should be renamed to something like: a selection or major cities and notable architecture. Its a pretty superficial app. Got it thinking it would be educational for my 7 and 9 year old. But I am going to uninstall it because its not an accurate glimpse of the world. My suggestions if the developers want to improve this app: - include information on products coming from agricultural zones. - do your homework and include loads more more information on regions and cities. - consider using more and different map overlays - such as transport systems, agriculture, culture, historical events. - dont link to Wikipedia! Do better research and dont make users go to an external link to learn more. Major oversights: What about Boston? And so many other major cities that are simply ommited? Almost all of Africa is void of life, according to your "atlas". What about McMurdo station in Antarctica? I hope you will work more on this! Or at least change the name so you do not mislead more people.

Wonderful App

This app is so pleasant and just fun to play and navigate around. I cannot believe that it’s only a few dollars! Thank you so much!

Great App! This is worth it.

You guys did a great job with this application. Its like Google Earth for kids. I love it. The only recommendation is to make the points of interest give more photos and videos when you click on them. The text information is great for a high elementary or middle schooler, but not so much for low elementary grades.

wrong info

the Great Wall of China is appear in a wrong location, please revise it.

Good maybe for a student

Pros: Love the idea of having a game like view to see the world. You can view the world map offline. You can spin this atlas like a ball and zoom in on buildings. You can see clouds, boats and planes moving around the globe. Cons: There is no street view like Google Maps this is just a map with landmarks so you get what’s given. There is no 5 day forecast for the weather so no looking ahead to see how the weather would be in the other part of the world or locally. Most of the information when viewing buildings is hyper-linked to wikipedia so it’s misleading to say "no internet connection required (except for the weather)” Good app but not anything like google maps or weather bug which I thought it had incorporated.

AWESOME AND THE KIDS LOVE IT TOO!

I purchaed the apps not expecting the graphics and interaction to be the way that it is but it’s great and the little planes that are flying definitely entertain the kids. I also like the fact that you can interact with the globe and toggle with it. I like the interest point and the information that you get when you click on things…this is really nice. This app is really nice and very colorful and fun for the whole family!

Stole my dollar

I bought it, it charged me, hit install, nothing happens

Amazing and great fun

This app works perfectly for me. I use it on a 27” iMac where the clear separation of countries makes it very quick and easy to read. I also have Google Earth which requires an internet connection and is more difficult to read, wonderful but often more than I need. This app gives a clear look at the world which I find more useful than digging down into the minutiae of Google Earth. When I hear the world news it is helpful to know and see where the cities and countries are in relation to the surrounding influences. This is the perfect companion to the news broadcasts.

Excellent

Runs smoothly on a 2010 MBA with only 2GB of ram despite the eye candy. Beautiful and informative

good application

exellent application as world atlas concerned ..

Homework

My kids love this app doing their Geography Homework. I’ve learened a thing or two myself.
